From the Indicator:
Mathematics and science are two words which are synonymous with Stuyvesant High School. Therefore, it is only logical that our school should have a fine Math Team. In the annals of Stuyvesant, the Math Team has and will always hold a position in the upper echelons of activities.
The team works hand in hand with the Math Club. At meetings new types of problems, theories and other mathematical curiosities are lectured upon and then learned by the avidly interested members. This term, Justin Groshin (sic) is the president of the club while Mr. Greenberg advises the team and the club.
Five starters are chosen from amongst the best mathematicians, to start in the meet. Leonard Ruthazer is ably leading the boys as captain this year. The team is composed of twenty apt students. The boys hold their meetings daily, after school.
With a group of interested and promising boys, Mr. Greenberg and Captain Ruthazer have made this year's team one to be proud of.
